What is a line?//London Underground

Looking into the different aesthetics and perspectives of the London Underground to get a better understanding of the way lines are applied and read.

Here, this map shows that aspects of the London Unground have been taken and applied to the World map. At first glance it just looks like the tube map, this is because of the lines used.   It shows that it uses international imagery that is recognised in a lot of places and by a lot of people.

Looking at how the aesthetics and use of lines has changed as time has gone on.

These snap shots of the older version of the tube map shows it was much more complex. However, you can still see elements of the current tube map within.
