1. The use of Propaganda
originally, Propaganda had a negative outlook as it was developed by the German's at wat. Bernay's was convinced that he could turn Propaganda into a positive way of advertising and encouraging mass groups.

Breaking the taboo of women smoking was irrational but also gave women a sense of independent The perception of women smoking began to develop sexual connotations.

Torches were the symbol of freedom and independence A prime example of this is the Statue of liberty.

One of Bernay's skills was controlling mass groups and doing it well. It was easier to direct a group rather than an individual.
