Jo's Designer Dating Continued//Task 5


Task: Choose three designers that I had never heard of from the exercise.  

1. Kate Bingaman-Burt




Kate Bingaman-Burt is an illustrator based in Portland, Oregon. She is also an educator and is  Assistant Professor and the co-program coordinator of Graphic Design at Portland State University.  She has been making work about consumption since 2002. An illustrative book called Obsessive Consumption: What Did You Buy Today?

2. I Love Dust 



ilovedust, is a multi-disciplinary design boutique which specialises in graphic design, illustration and animation. They have two studios, one based on the South coast, the other is centered in Shoreditch, London.

3. Rudi de wet 





Rudi de wet lives between Cape Town and Melbourne. His work includes typography, illustration and design which expresses bold and energetic aspects. He has worked for brands such as 'Budweiser', 'Cannon' and 'Apple'.

Male Choice: Scott Albrecht

Scott Albrecht was born in 1983 in New jersey. His studio is based In Brooklyn, NY.  Scott graduates from the Institution of Philadelphia in 2003. He co-founded the collective blog named, PROCESS.

Female Choice: Harriet Russell 

Harriet Russell is a freelance illustrator who lives and works in London. Harriet studies at Glasgow School Of Art and Central St Martins where she finished an MA in 2001. She has worked for big names such as Penguin books and Jamie's school dinners.

Company Choice: Sass & Peril 

Sass & Peril is a small company ran by Shannon Kennedy, based in Long Beach, California.  Shannon originally studied Graphic Design which is when she discovered he passion for screen printing and textiles. A growing hobby eventually turned into a full-time business, working for big clients such as 'Vans'.

Most instant messaging and social networking icons asre very simple as they need to be seen on small screens. Most of them only really use one or two colours to not over crowd the simple image. Some are just based on an outline. This proves still to be effective.
