What is good//Knitting websites

As the a website proposal is going to be involved in the design side of this project, it is interesting to see how websites with a similar aim are approached.

We love knitting

This website is a yarn shop and sells other items. The design, photographs and text clear communicate this. Even though it is obvious in what the website is selling, it isn't very inspiring. The aesthetics of logo which is quite contemporary does not really go with the rest of the website. However, saying this, it is one of the better craft websites come across. Some of the design looks like two different approaches put together. The information on the website is more than appropriate  The actual content is helpful and clear.

Craft Yarn Council

This website has a lot going on. Their is not a clear style or design approach. However, it is clear what the website is selling. Again, typically like the knitting websites, the images are dated.

Knit Picks

After much research, a knitting website was finally found that doesn't look too dated. The layout is clear and works in a grid system. The colour pallet is kept minimim and strongly communicates the craft.
